LOS ANGELES, California -- Harry Potter was the center of seven novels, but he'll star in eight films.
The final book in the wildly successful series will be made into two films, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
Producers are expected to announce Thursday that J.K. Rowling's last "Potter" installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will be split into two parts on the big screen. The first film is slated for release in November 2010, with part two following in May 2011.
"It was born out of purely creative reasons," producer David Heyman told the Times. "Unlike every other book, you cannot remove elements of this book."
The two final 'Potter' films will be shot concurrently, much like the blockbuster trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novel "The Lord of the Rings."
Another famous Tolkien tome, "The Hobbit," is also being split into two live-action movies set for back-to-back shooting to begin next year.
Filming on the sixth "Potter" flick, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," began in September.
"It's been brilliant," said star Daniel Radcliffe. "It's also, I think, the funniest of the films so far."
The "Potter" film franchise has pulled in $4.5 billion at the worldwide box office.

Controlled from 774 million miles away, NASA's Cassini spacecraft will swoop within 30 miles of the surface of one of Saturn's moons Wednesday, in an unprecedented flyby maneuver.
In a moment long awaited by NASA scientists, the unmanned orbiter Cassini will pass through geysers of ice, water vapor, and dust erupting from the southern pole of the 310-mile-wide moon Enceladus, in hopes of collecting fine particles. The 465-mile-high plumes shooting out from fissures, or tiger stripes, in the moon's surface, were first discovered during a similar but much more distant flyby in 2005.
"This will be our closest flyby yet," says NASA scientist Candice Hansen-Koharcheck. "We knew that Enceladus was a very interesting target, but we had no idea that we would find the kind of activity that we found — water just spewing out of the south pole."
The discovery in 2005 happened during the third flyby of Cassini's original mission, a four-year exploration of Saturn, which concludes in June. Since then, scientists have been carefully planning the trajectory for additional maneuvers during an extended mission for the spacecraft, proposed to continue through June 2010. If all goes according to plan, Wednesday's will be the first of eight additional flybys.
Cassini will be 120 miles from the small moon's icy surface when it passes through the edge of the geysers. Future flybys will get as close as 16 miles from the surface of Enceladus — and 100 miles from the surface while passing through the plumes — but in this first close approach, scientists decided to proceed with caution. "We concluded that there really wasn't any point to push it on this flyby, especially considering that we've got seven more coming up in the next couple of years," says Cassini program manager Bob Mitchell.
By collecting particles from the plumes of gas and water vapor bursting out of Enceladus at approximately 800 miles per hour, scientists hope to better understand the composition of the moon's surface in contrast to its interior — scientists believe that some of the plumes' water-ice particles emerge from within the moon and some bounce off its surface. Scientists also want to know whether there is any liquid water — an essential component to supporting life — below the moon's iced surface. "The thing that makes Enceladus so exciting is that all of the ingredients you would need to support life, as we know it on Earth at least, are there," Mitchell says. "We know there's ice," he adds. "The one thing that we don't know for certain is whether there is liquid water."
The moon's plumes emit particles that are 90% water, in vaporized form, and contribute to the large rings around Saturn. "It's like the steam coming out of your kettle," Hansen-Koharcheck says. By analyzing the molecular structure of these particles, scientists hope to determine whether the vapor originates as ice or liquid, and whether that means there could be life in Enceladus's interior, beneath the surface of the ice.
Additionally, they hope to get a better grasp on the remaining 10% of the particles. During the July 2005 flyby they were able to collect samples of particles that showed the presence of organic materials including carbon dioxide and methane, which, along with water and energy, are essential to sustain life. For larger carbon compounds, however, the results were less clear. As Hansen-Koharcheck puts it, "The data gets really noisy."
Scientists hope that clearer data will reveal information about why the geysers formed. The leading theory is that Saturn's gravitational pull puts stresses on the moon, causing the fissures from which the plumes erupt. "Enceladus' orbit around Saturn is eccentric," Mitchell says. It's just enough off of circular that the effect of gravity on the moon is different from one point to another, and different from the planet's other moons. "That difference in the tug would be enough to cause the body to distort differently as it goes around Saturn." The friction created when sides of the tiger stripes are pulled apart or pushed together at different points during orbit may be creating the heat that ultimately causes the eruptions.
In addition to collecting particles for analysis in an ion and neutral mass spectrometer, and a cosmic dust analyzer, Cassini will photograph yet unseen parts near the moon's south pole. It will also use infrared technology to create a comprehensive map of surface temperatures at the south pole. Warmer temperatures increase the likelihood that there is water in liquid form on the small moon.
Hansen-Koharcheck and her colleagues are hopeful about their prospects of better understanding the structure of Enceladus — and what that will mean about the conditions in its interior. "It's one of these fun mysteries," she says. "It all goes back to this question: Could there be life?"

Madonna and Leonard Cohen to enter the Hall of Fame of Rock

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The pop star Madonna, the folk singer Leonard Cohen, the rock John Mellencamp, the British pop band The Dave Clark Five and the group instrumental The Ventures will join the Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll this Monday.
The five were chosen by 600 professionals in the music industry and defeated the singer Donna Summer, the group Chic funk New Yorker, the pioneering rapper Afrika Bambataa and the group of hip Beastie Boys to be honored at the 23rd annual ceremony for inclusion in the Hall of Fame.
The artists may join the Hall of Fame from 25 years after the release of their first album or single.They are being represented in an exhibition at the museum of the Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll, in Cleveland, Ohio.
For the British band of the 1960s The Dave Clark Five, the honor comes with some sadness, because their vocalist, Mike Smith, died in February of pneumonia, to 64 years.
"He was very happy because we would be included in the Hall of Fame," said his agent, Margo Lewis, when Smith died.
The Dave Clark Five stops led British in 1965 with "Glad All Over" and was described as "huge pop phenomenon" before they separated in 1970. The group has sold more than 50 million albums.
The band will be received at the Hall of Fame by Tom Hanks, and there will be a special performance.
FIRST TIME FOR MADONNA
The Dave Clark Five and Mellencamp had indicated other times for the Hall of Fame, but this was the first indication of Madonna. She will be received at the Hall of Fame of Rock and Roll by Justin Timberlake, and Iggy & The Stooges will present in his honor.
Madonna, 49 years old, was launched in 1982, and its first album, "Madonna", had hits like "Holiday", "Borderline" and "Lucky Star", which helped transform it into one of the most famous pop artists in the world and has already sold more than 200 million albums.
John Mellencamp released his first album in 1976 and sang very frustrated about the American dream, a fact that prompted the Hall of Fame to describe it as a "symbol of the hopes, struggles and passions of the American heart."
Leonard Cohen, Canadian voice hoarse whose songs speak of love, sex, faith and betrayal, is one of the most literary of composers. He has four books of poems and two novels before they return to the music.

Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) chief software architect said the company will not rush to integrate its Web advertising system with that of possible merger partner Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO) .
Ray Ozzie, the Lotus Notes inventor and Groove Networks founder who took over the software architect role from Bill Gates in 2006, told the Financial Times that Microsoft would take its time integrating the two companies' Web technology platforms.
A more measured integration approach could help avoid the problems that technology companies sometimes encounter when they try to quickly mesh back-end systems together, Ozzie said.
Avoiding a Reckless Approach
Seeking to quickly "smash things together" is a "reckless" approach, Ozzie told the newspaper. He added that Yahoo has a variety of technologies that would need to be integrated as well as a distinct culture.
Both Microsoft and Yahoo have spent tens of millions of dollars to develop Web advertising platforms in efforts to match rival Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) 
A slowed-down integration process could be welcome news in the Yahoo camp, where there is widespread concern about job losses and the cultural clash that would likely ensue when Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft tried to fold in the Silicon Valley-based Yahoo.
Delayed Gratification
One risk for Microsoft is that its takeover bid for Yahoo prompts the very engineering talent and other key employees that it's most interested in keeping to depart the company before or shortly after the deal is done.
However, the differences between the two corporate cultures may not be as stark as some have suggested, Forrester Research analyst Charlene Li told the E-Commerce Times.
While Yahoo is a Web company, it has not been a startup

Yahoo is undergoing its own internal changes, as CEO Jerry Yang puts job cuts and other cost-saving measures in place in order to right the Web portal's ship after several quarters of struggles.
Savings on Hold
Such a delayed approach may also have another downside, however: Both cost synergies -- which Microsoft said in announcing its US$44.6 billion bid could be high as $1 billion -- and market share gains to be realized through the merger may take longer to bring about.
Famed Internet analyst Henry Blodget has estimated that with the cost synergies in place, a combined Microsoft-Yahoo could have operating profit of $1.6 billion by 2009, with a 12 percent profit margin on $13 billion in revenue. By comparison, if the savings were stripped out, profits would be $600 million, a 4 percent profit margin, Blodget wrote on his Silicon Alley Insider blog.
Another key question will be which technological approach survives the merger and integration process. Yahoo's Panama is seen as a dramatic improvement over its previous platform, but has disappointed some analysts and investors in terms of the relatively muted impact it has had on the portal's Web traffic monetization rate.
'Some Interesting Twists'
"Microsoft's history has been to view its own technology as superior and to go out and buy firms that had intellectual property that it could use to augment what it already built in-house," Ovum Vice President David Mitchell told the E-Commerce Times. "This is a much different situation."
Still, Microsoft may want the added time Ozzie referenced to evaluate how the platforms can work together or which parts of each system should be carried forward, Mitchell added.
Ozzie briefly mentioned the Yahoo takeover in his keynote address at last week's Mix conference. "Although I can't talk much about our proposed offer to buy Yahoo, I can say it's already added some interesting twists to what promises to be a really, really exciting year ahead. We've got a lot on tap.
"In order to ensure the health of our ad platform, we're significantly investing in search and also in content, commerce and community innovation. All of this works to attract and grow a highly engaged, well-targetable audience for advertisers. And if you wondered why we're so interested in Yahoo, its creative people and its interesting properties, I hope this makes it a little bit clearer."
South Korea Announces Woman as Its First Astronaut
The astronaut, Yi So-yeon, 29, was selected after the Russian space authorities accused the South Korean man who was initially chosen for the mission of breaking training rules.
While South Korea appeared unhappy that it had been asked to make the switch so close to the scheduled launching, women’s groups said Ms. Yi’s participation was likely to further improve the status of women in South Korea’s traditionally male-dominated society.
The astronaut she replaced, Ko San, 30, a computer engineer, was selected for the mission in August after beating 36,000 contestants in a nationwide government competition in which almost any South Korean could apply. Ms. Yi, who came in second in the competition, has been training with Mr. Ko in Russia as his backup since last year.
With less than a month to go before the start of the mission, the South Korean government, which is financing the $27 million trip, decided to replace Mr. Ko with Ms. Yi after a recommendation from the Federal Space Agency in Russia.
The Russian agency told South Korea last week that Mr. Ko had committed “repeated breaches of training protocol,” including taking training manuals out of the training center without permission, said Lee Sang-mok, an official at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
“The Russian space agency has stressed that a minor mistake and disobedience can cause serious consequences in space,” Mr. Lee said during a nationally televised news conference. “So the honor of becoming South Korea’s first astronaut now goes to a woman.”
Paik Hong-yul, president of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, which oversees South Korea’s space program, said Mr. Ko had made “mistakes out of his overenthusiasm in training.”
According to the mission’s schedule, Ms. Yi, who had just finished her master’s degree in bioengineering before taking up her mission, is to return to Earth on April 19 after conducting scientific experiments at the International Space Station. Mr. Ko will continue to train with Ms. Yi and assist her mission from the ground, the government said.
“This is good news for South Korean women, especially those engaged in science and technology,” said Kim Ji-young, a university professor who leads the Korea Federation of Women’s Science and Technology Associations. “She can be a role model and encourage Korean women who want to enter science and technology, where women have faced bigger walls in finding jobs than men.”
Ms. Yi’s mission will make South Korea the 35th country to send an astronaut into space since Russia first sent Yuri Gagarin into orbit in 1961.
So far, 34 countries, including Vietnam, Mongolia and Afghanistan, have sent more than 470 astronauts into space. Fewer than 50 of them were women, starting with Valentina Tereshkova of Russia, in 1963.
Brazil Discovers an Oil Field Can Be a Political Tool
into a global energy powerhouse and to reshape the politics of this energy-starved continent.
While Brazil’s state oil company, Petrobras, has known of the field for more than a year, it only finished assessing its full potential in recent months. It announced on Nov. 8 that the field held some five billion to eight billion barrels of crude oil and natural gas.
The announcement has everyone in the region, and beyond, taking notice. A field that size — the biggest in the world since a discovery in Kazakhstan in 2000 — is a potential political game-changer for Brazil.
In the next five years it is conceivable that Brazil could move ahead of Mexico and Canada in total oil reserves, becoming second only to Venezuela and the United States in the energy pecking order of the Americas.
This is heady stuff for Brazil, a country that only last year became a net energy exporter mostly because of its aggressive push into sugar-cane ethanol and hydroelectric power.
“All of a sudden Brazil is emerging as an energy power,” said Peter Hakim, president of the Inter-American Dialogue, a policy group in Washington focusing on Latin America. “Everything they have developed, from soybeans to sugar to oil is suddenly working. They have had amazing luck.”
There is little doubt that the find gives Brazil new influence against energy players like Bolivia and Venezuela, and not just in the economic competition among energy suppliers, but in the political arena as well.
Much to the chagrin of the United States, Venezuela’s president, Hugo Chávez, has used his nation’s oil wealth to aggressively push a leftist agenda at home and abroad. The Brazilian field, known as Tupi, now has the potential to lend more weight to Brazil’s more moderate, leftist approach.
Already countries around the region have been quick to sense the potential threats and benefits. With news of the discovery coming just ahead of a meeting of Latin American leaders in Santiago, Chile, Brazil’s president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, acknowledged there during the meeting that he was being “treated with a certain deference” by the other leaders.
Mr. Chávez nervously jested that Mr. da Silva was now an “oil magnate.” He also quickly suggested that the two nations create an Amazonian energy region similar to the Caribbean and Andean integration efforts Venezuela had been pushing for.
“Now Lula has some cards to put on the table with Chávez,” said Roberto Teixeira da Costa, an economist who serves on the board of the private equity arm of Brazil’s development bank. “It is good to have some counterweight in Latin America.” It seems the discovery has already given Mr. da Silva more confidence in standing up to Mr. Chávez and his protégé, the Bolivian president, Evo Morales.
Petrobras on Tuesday pulled out of a natural gas project with Venezuela, citing “technical and economic reasons.” It denied the pullout had anything to do with the Tupi discovery.
A cartoon in the Brazilian newspaper O Globo showed Mr. da Silva sunbathing atop an oil gusher one day, and breathing a black substance into the face of Mr. Morales the next. “There’s Lula, full of gas: be careful Morales!” the caption read.
The turnabout is dramatic. Just two years ago Mr. Morales announced the nationalization of his nation’s energy reserves. The step was a firm slap to Brazil, which had invested in Bolivia. Now analysts expect the new field will allow Brazil to take a tougher stand in its negotiations with Bolivia over new gas contracts and investments in Bolivia’s nationalized gas sector.
Mr. da Silva basked in the sudden possibilities, declaring that “Brazil would obviously participate in OPEC,” the global oil cartel, and already felt free enough to weigh in on its politics, saying that the organization should reduce oil prices.
He also insisted that Brazil would not “pull back even one millimeter” from its push into biofuels. Brazil is sitting on the most abundant farmland in the world, which it has been using a part of to produce sugar cane for ethanol.
Not least, though the new oil will not be online for at least five years, the announcement of the size of the field may help Mr. da Silva blunt criticism at home that Brazil was heading into an energy crisis because of a shortage of natural gas.
It has also raised hopes of easing the energy crisis among Brazil’s neighbors, notably Argentina and Chile, which have been struggling with a lack of natural gas of their own.
Argentina has consistently cut off the flow of gas to Chile for the past two winters, causing Chile to scramble to find supplies elsewhere, and Bolivia’s nationalization has raised doubts about its ability to supply its neighbors’ growing energy demand.
“Every country in Latin America is aiming for energy independence, because they don’t have that much trust in their neighbors,” Mr. Hakim said.
Just last week Michelle Bachelet, Chile’s president, rejected an offer from Mr. Chávez of subsidized gasoline for the struggling public transportation system in Santiago. Ms. Bachelet said she was convinced that Chileans could resolve the system’s problems “ourselves.”
Meanwhile, Petrobras, which has developed into a leading expert on deep-water oil exploration, will have to work hard to tap the find.
To coax the oil from Tupi, engineers will have to drill up to 16,000 feet below the sea floor through salt and rocks, in water depths of up to 10,000 feet, an undertaking that is at the frontier of the industry’s technological ability, according to PFC Energy, a consultancy in Washington.
Even if the field turns out to be a good deal bigger than Petrobras has estimated publicly, Brazil still could not match Venezuela’s 80 billion barrels of oil reserves. The Tupi field, if it holds at least 5 billion barrels, could push Brazil past 17 billion barrels.
“This is oil that is promised for the future, not for today or tomorrow,” said Larry Goldstein, director of the Energy Policy Research Foundation in Washington. “If I was Chávez I wouldn’t be losing a lot of sleep — not yet.”

Purpose of Data
By be created this date is not intended only celebrate. In most countries, there are conferences, debates and meetings whose purpose is to discuss the role of women in society today. The effort is to try to reduce and maybe one day end, with the bias and devaluation of women. Even with all the advances, they still suffer in many places, with low wages, male violence, excessive day of work and disadvantages in professional career. Saturn's Second Moon
New observations by a spacecraft suggest Saturn's second-largest moon may be surrounded by rings.

The international Cassini spacecraft detected what appeared to be a large debris disk around the 950-mile-wide moon Rhea during a flyby in 2005. Scientists proposed that the halo likely contained particles ranging from the size of grains to boulders.
The finding was described in a study published in the March 7 issue of the journal Science.
Unlike the rings around Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune, the apparent arcs around Rhea remain invisible and have not been directly seen. Scientists inferred their existence based on measurements by Cassini, which detected a drop in electrons on both sides of the moon, suggesting the presence of rings was absorbing the electrons.
It's unclear where the rings would have originated, but one explanation is they may be the result of an ancient asteroid or comet collision that spewed material around Rhea.

Mysterious assassin in Memphis
Six people were killed, including two children, in a home Monday in Memphis, Tennessee, authorities said. Three other children were wounded.
The four dead adults were shot and the two children were stabbed, sources told CNN affiliate WMC-TV.
At least one of the wounded children also was stabbed, police told the Commercial Appeal newspaper.
Memphis Fire Department spokeswoman Melanie Young said firefighters responded to a 911 call at a home at 6:11 p.m. Monday and found the bodies and wounded children.
A 7-year-old boy, a 10-month-old girl and a 4-year-old whose gender wasn't immediately known were taken to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center.
The Commercial Appeal newspaper said one child was upgraded to stable condition late Monday, another was upgraded to critical and the third was still in extremely critical condition.
Police do not know what was behind the violence, the newspaper reported.

Iron Maiden
São Paulo, March 2 .- The British-rock group Iron Maiden attracted 40,000 fans in São Paulo, amazed a strong rain that threatened to spoil the show and promised to return in less than a year.
The show that the band of heavy metal offered on the evening of Sunday was the first of three planned by the group in Brazil. The tour continues in Curitiba on Tuesday in Porto Alegre in the fourth.
Given the thousands of São Paulo who arrived with several hours in advance to the site of the show, in the Parque Antarctica, stage of Palmeiras, the veteran British rockers played the major classics of the era of gold of his career.
On a stage decorated as an Egyptian temple and in front of panels of fund that showed images of other presentations, the five rockers interpreted his most famous songs, included in the tour "Somewhere in time."

Silverchair is an Australian alternative rock/post-grunge band. The band formed as "Innocent Criminals" in Newcastle, Australia in 1992, with their current lineup of vocalist and guitarist Daniel Johns, bass guitarist Chris Joannou, and drummer Ben Gillies.
Silverchair found early success when one of their first songs, "Tomorrow", won a local music competition run by Australian radio station Triple J. The band were soon signed by Sony Music Australia, and released albums to success and acclaim in Australia and overseas. They have won 19 ARIA Awards and have sold five platinum albums in Australia.

Los Hermanos - Primavera
Los Hermanos is an indie rock band from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The group was formed in 1997 by Marcelo Camelo (vocals/guitar), Rodrigo Amarante (guitar/vocals), Rodrigo Barba (drums), and Bruno Medina (keyboards).
They recorded two demos that eventually found their way into the hands of Paulo André, the producer of the Abril Pro Rock festival, in Recife. The band was then invited to perform on one of the biggest alternative music festivals in Brazil, the Superdemo. Their self-titled album, released in 1999, became a huge seller on the back of the hit single "Anna Júlia". The success of "Anna Júlia", in a general sense, overshadowed the rest of their career, leading some to think they are a one-hit wonder, despite experiencing success among fans and music enthusiasts with other works. The song has been covered by many different artists, including Jim Capaldi with George Harrison.
After the success of their first album, the band released in 2001 Bloco do Eu Sozinho, leaving behind the hardcore sound that highlighted their debut to a mix of rock, samba, and other Brazilian rhythms. Bloco do Eu Sozinho did not make much of an impact in the mainstream media (it had only two hits, "Todo Carnaval Tem Seu Fim" and "Sentimental"), but it is still regarded as one of the best Brazilian rock albums of that year.
The follow-up to Bloco do Eu Sozinho, Ventura (2003), was released in 2004, and the band sound was even more influenced by samba, choro and bossa nova. Although these albums weren't as comercially successful as Los Hermanos, they were acclaimed by critics and consolidated the band in the alternative scene. Although those two albums did not sell as much as the first one, they consolidated the band as a cult band; mainly because of their lyrics, considered clever by many, and their mixture of Brazilian rhythms with rock.
Their newest record, simply titled 4, was released in August, 2005, with mixed reviews. The record led the band into MPB rhythms with a more melancholic lyrics and melody.
On April 23rd 2007, after ten years of uninterrupted career work, the band announced a recess for undetermined time span (hiatus). The note on the official website affirms there were no quarrels whatsoever among the band components, the reason for the recess simply being each one's need of time to dedicate to other personal activities. In the same note the band also announces its three final exhibitions on June 7th, 8th and 9th at Rio de Janeiro.
